SF Ballet:  Onegin
Present-Friday, February 3rd at 8PM
War Memorial Opera House, 401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco

Price:  $36-$285

Joining SF Ballet’s repertoire for the first time, John Cranko’s intensely dramatic work Onegin is a masterful ballet adaptation of the early-19th century novel in verse, Eugene Onegin, by Alexander Pushkin. The passionate story of Russian aristocrat Eugene and his lost chance for love with the beautiful Tatiana, unleashes heartbreaking themes of unrequited love, anguish, and tragic irony. Set to a powerful score by Tchaikovsky, this production features lavish scenery and costumes by award-winning designer Santo Loquasto and lighting by James F. Ingalls.

ACT:  Humor Abuse
Present – February 5th at various times
American Conservatory Theater, Geary Street, San Francisco

Price:  $20-$85

Throughout his one-man show, Lorenzo Pisoni often describes himself as “not funny.” However, he shows excellent comedic timing that draws in more than a few laughs. (I say “mission accomplished, sir.”). But “Humor Abuse” is more than Pisoni’s stage memoir about clowning and growing up in a circus family. It is about a turbulent father-son relationship. It is about young boy becoming a man. And, by finding his own voice, it is about a man discovering and understanding his father, the original Lorenzo Pisoni. This 80-minute production is filled with spectacular stunts, touching photos, physical comedy, and much more. A must see for anyone with a pulse!
